ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY

New England is blessed to have so many of its historic buildings still standing.  More than any other single artifact, historic homes provide not only the clearest snapshot of yesteryear but contribute an overwhelming sense of place to our surroundings.  Architectural Historians, through both trained forensic studies and archival research, can provide a home owner with a keener understanding of a historic dwelling's physical development and contextual meaning within its community.

At Beacon Street Home Inspection, I offer a full range of technical expertise for the identification, documentation, evaluation, and protection of historic buildings and structures.  I can apply years of academic training and field experience in studying and documenting the historic built environment to your home with the Secretary of the Interior's professional qualification standards for architectural historian and history.  I have experience with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the evaluation and documentation standards used by both the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) and the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
